I recently found the website of The Black Watch of Canada (see link below) that includes a Meet and Greet Forum. Whilst having a discussion on the Forum I wanted to show some pictures of my time in the Regiment but could not do this direct to the  Forum  so decided to create this website.

Hopefully if someone recognizes me or any of the other individuals shown they could contact me.  It is many years since I left the Regiment so am unable to put names to the faces.

I signed up for the Regiment in London, Ontario in 1961 and travelled to Camp Gagetown, New Brunswick to undertake my basic training. I completed my training with 123 Squad and then joined the 2nd Battalion stationed at Camp Gagetown.

The 2nd Battalion was then tasked to replace the 1st Battalion at Ft St Louis, Werl in Germany. I was sent over with the advance party and remember the experience as we flew by the Comet aircraft and the heating did not work, quite a cold journey. Also, we ended up flying into Paris and then moving onto Germany.

I then spent the next 2 years at Ft St Louis in C Company the 2nd Battalion, many times running around the German countryside with pieces of an 81mm mortar slung over my shoulder.

On discharge I returned to the UK and carried on with life.
